Bath Time for a Baby Monkey: Small Tub, Big Fuss

A baby monkey gets bathed by hand in a small basin, rinsed carefully around the bottom, wrapped in a towel, and finally settled down with a warm bottle. That is the whole gentle routine this footage follows, start to finish.

What happens in the video

The footage opens with the baby monkey curled up in a green plastic laundry basket, resting on a soft towel next to a small rubber duck toy for comfort. From there, caring hands lift the little one into a red basin of water for a proper wash.

The bath looks like it takes some patience. Someone holds the baby monkey steady with both hands, working water gently over its head and back while it sits in the basin, which looks barely bigger than a mixing bowl — about the size you’d use for a house cat’s food dish.

How does the baby monkey react to being washed?

Once the washing is done, the baby monkey is toweled dry and wrapped snugly, looking a little damp but calm, with its wide dark eyes fixed on the camera. In one shot it sits curled in a bright blue basin, still wrapped, feet tucked and tail curled around itself.

By the end, the baby monkey is dressed in a soft gray-and-white striped wrap and handed a pink bottle for a feed — a quiet, cozy close to the whole cleanup.

Why hand-rearing looks like this

Young monkeys that are hand-raised often need this kind of close, repeated care — washing, drying, and bottle feeding — much like a human infant would. The towels, basins, and gentle handling seen here are typical of that everyday routine.
