A Newborn Monkey’s Bath Time, Hand-Held and Gentle

A newborn monkey, so small it fits entirely in one cupped hand, gets a warm bath in a little plastic basin. The footage shows just how fragile a baby primate is in its first days: its skin is still pink, its fur is thin and dark only along the head and back, and its oversized ears stand out against its tiny face.

The water in the basin looks shallow, maybe just a few inches (around 10 cm) deep, with suds along the surface. A caregiver’s hand supports the baby’s body the whole time, keeping its head above the waterline while the rest of it is gently washed.

What happens in the video

The baby is held firmly but carefully, the way you might cradle a kitten small enough to sit in your palm. Its arms and legs move slowly in the water, and its tail — long, thin, and still mostly bare of fur — trails behind.

After the bath, the clip shifts to a drier scene: the baby curled on a green-and-white striped towel, tail looped almost in a full circle around its body. It tucks its hands near its mouth and presses close to the towel, the same way a very young, cold animal looks for warmth.

Why a newborn monkey needs this kind of care

At this stage, a baby monkey has very little fur to keep it warm, which is likely why the title points to the cold. Warm water, a soft towel, and constant hand support all seem aimed at keeping the little one comfortable and secure while it’s cleaned.

The wood-grain floor and folded towels in the background suggest this bath happens in a simple indoor space, with no fuss beyond what the baby needs.
