A Tiny, Skinny Newborn Monkey Learns to Take a Bottle

A newborn monkey, so thin its ribs and spine show through loose pink skin, works hard just to latch onto a small baby bottle. That is the whole story of this footage: a fragile baby learning, sip by sip, how to drink milk.

The baby is tiny, not much bigger than a house cat’s paw, with a tuft of dark hair on its head and wide, dark eyes. Its skin looks loose and wrinkled, the kind of look newborn animals have before they fill out with weight and muscle. Someone has put small striped socks on its feet, maybe for warmth, maybe just to keep its grip soft on the blanket beneath it.

What happens in the video

Early on, a caregiver’s hands gently wipe and tend to the newborn as it lies on a fuzzy orange blanket spread over what looks like a soft play mat. The monkey is almost motionless here, clearly very young and very weak.

Later, it is seen gripping the bottle itself, small hands wrapped around the plastic as it works to pull milk through the nipple. The bottle is a standard baby bottle, the kind marked in milliliters, which gives a sense of just how small this feeding really is.

Why the baby looks so thin

The video’s title and description both point to the same thing: this is a very skinny newborn, and drinking is hard work for it. No cause is given in the material, only what the camera shows — a fragile animal being fed carefully, a little at a time, on soft bedding away from any outdoor setting.

By the final shots, the baby is upright on its own, nestled into the orange blanket with its socked feet tucked beneath it, bottle still close by.
