A baby monkey named PavPav spends this video doing very little — and that’s exactly the charm of it. He sits on a small round red cushion, about the size of a large dinner plate, on a tiled floor at home, quietly checking himself over while he settles down.

PavPav is pale and fuzzy, with big dark eyes and pink, oversized ears that look too big for his head, the way a puppy’s paws look too big for its body. He’s small enough to curl up entirely on the cushion, roughly the size of a house cat, with long thin limbs he hasn’t quite grown into yet.

What does PavPav do in the video?

He moves between a few simple positions: sitting hunched over with his arms tucked in front of him, crouching low on all fours as he shuffles across a red mat, and perching upright on the cushion with his hands resting on the cushion’s edge. At one point his mouth is open wide, as if mid-yawn or mid-call.

The floor around him is a mix of pale tile and a red mat patterned with a small gold-and-blue design. A thin red cord runs across the mat near him, and the cushion itself has a simple blue-and-black cartoon face stitched onto it.

Where was this filmed?

The footage was shot indoors, on a plain tiled floor with beige walls, by the filmmaker at home as part of an ongoing series following a small group of baby monkeys he cares for, including Jacky, Jenny, PoPo, PavPav, Titas, ChiChi, and Linda.

Why the title mentions him checking himself

The video’s title notes PavPav sitting and checking his private area, which lines up with the hunched, self-focused posture seen through much of the clip — a baby animal doing the ordinary, unhurried business of looking himself over on a quiet afternoon.
