A newborn baby monkey, clearly unwell, is the focus of this footage — small enough to fit easily in two hands, with thin limbs and a tuft of dark fur on its head that makes its pale, wide-eyed face stand out even more.

The little one is filmed resting and shifting around on a soft teal towel spread across what looks like a padded pink surface, maybe a crib or playpen liner decorated with a star and cloud pattern. Its skin looks pink and delicate, and its grip — those small fingers pressing into the towel — looks unsteady, the kind of movement you’d expect from an animal only days old.

What does the footage show?

Across the clips, the baby is seen in slightly different positions: crouched low with its rear end raised, reaching one arm forward across the towel, and pausing with its head tilted as if listening or searching for something. Its dark eyes stay open and alert through most of it, even though its posture stays low and close to the towel rather than upright.

There’s no sign of a parent animal in frame, no cage bars, and no outdoor setting — just the towel, the patterned surface beneath it, and soft indoor lighting that gives the footage a slightly warm, pink-toned cast.

Why share footage like this?

Watching a newborn this small and this visibly weak move inch by inch across a towel is a reminder of how vulnerable the very earliest days of life can be for any young animal. The footage doesn’t explain a diagnosis or an outcome — it simply shows the baby as it was in that moment, doing its best to move, balance, and stay alert.
